Wowza! It's time for an update.
So I'm back in Houston[my hometown]. I'm going to wack booty University of St. Thomas right now. It sucks so bad. All white and azn ppl, and the students that are black are all displaced students from hurricane katrina. I have no social life here because all my friends are off at other colleges in other cities or states. Ughhh this is so annoying. I know it's only temporary but I'm ready to go back to New Orleans NOW!! I have like a crap load of papers to write and test to study for and so lil time to do it in. I have absolutely no motivation to do my work at this school. At Xavier I had a lot of motivation. Everyweekend there would be something fun to do, and I knew if i wanted to go I was gonna have to do all of my homewk and study hard. Here at St. Thomas...nothing to do on weekends=no social life. I really hope and pray that the school would be back open in January like they said.I'm literally homesick for Xavier..lol. That is like the best freakin school! No other university can touch it. I love New Orleans too..I never thought I would like it as much as Houston, but I'm getting to that point. I'm really looking foward to Xavier opening back in January because I am not staying at St. Thomas for another semester...NO WAY! |

So much has been has been going on. As you all have heard, Hurricane Katrina came through New Orleans and left the city looking like a war zone. My heart goes out to all the people that lost their homes, got flooded, didnt evacuate, and all the casualties. So I'll be praying for the hurricane victims and I asked that yall do the same.

Friday: Class
Saturday: Our RA woke the ppl on my dorm floor up and told us that the hurricane was coming, and to try and find a way home if we could. So I called my parents back in Houston asking them if they could come get me from Xavier or if I can take a bus home. They gave me an extra hard time talking about "e dont have the funds right now to be sending you money to come home like this, and we cant be driving 6hrs back and forth everytime you call us to come and get you..." They made me soooo mad mayne I cried and begged them to let me come home. The answer was still no. My Momma made me call her two cousins,that stay about 25 mins away from Xavier, to ask them if they can come get me. When my mom told me to do that i literally through a fit. I never met or seen these "cousins" before in my life and i knew i wouldnt feel comfortable going to someones house that i never met before. But I had call anyways. My friend Nicole(from houston also) was gonna go with me to my cousins house so i felt better about going when i found out she was comin' with me. At 3:30 my moms two cousins Mary and Laura(they're sisters)came to pick Nicole and I up from the dorms. Mary is like 57 and Laura is 54...so i was like "oh no im gonna be soooo bored..i wanna go home." So we went to Mary's house and it was cool. We met her two sons Blake 27 and Arty 28, who are my third cousins( not to mention they are both freakin fionne!). So we chilled at Mary's house eatin, watchin tv, movies, and what not. Then around 5:30 Blake and Arty asked Nicole and I if we wanted to go to the mall. We were bored so we went with them. Let me tell you when we got in their pimped out Expedition, these niggaz had a HUGE speakers, spinning rims and the whole 9 yards. Then I looked and the front and they had this unfinished glass of vodka..when i saw that i was like oh gorshhh what did i get myself into. But we drove to Oakwood mall and it was closed. So they were like lets go to the movies to see 4 brothers. We went, but the movie didnt start til 7:50 it was only 5:45. So then the oldest brother Arty was like "Mayne Blake, drive to the Daquiri SHop i want a daquri." Blake was like "Naw bro we dont need that now we gotta long drive to baton rouge tomorrow". Then Arty was like "Come on mayne." So we went to the Daquiri Shop. Nicole and I thought we were just gonna chill in the car while they get they drank and do what they do. These dudes made us get out of the car and go in. So me and Nicole chillin at this table trynna look 21, then Blake and Arty come over like "Yall wont a daquiri yall know yall want one, come on we aint gon tell nobody." Nicole and I were both like "Naw we straight...we cool we dont really drink." Check dis out...so Blake and Arty walked away and 5 mins later they came back to where we were with two daquiris for me and Nicole. We both looked at each other like "I know they didn't". They were like "Here and yall better drink it, and if yall happen to get tipsy, yall cant be doin all this giggling sh*t in front of our momma cause she can tell when you been dranking." Then Blake was like " Here lets practice a straight face..." OMG I fell out laughing, these niggs are off the wall crazy. So we chilled at the Daquiri shop for about 45 mins and talked for a while. Me and Nicole found out that they got the hook up to a lot of the concerts that come to New Orleans. They were like " Yea if yall wouldve called earlier we would've gave yall VIP passes to the Scream tour 4 concert. Me and Nicole were like "Dang we went to that concert too." Then we found out that they both run this club called DREAM on Decatur street. They said they would come get us from the campus on weekends if we wanted to go to that club with them and chill in VIP... I was like "oh ok we gon have to do that." Their cousin ( who's also my 3rd cousin) came to chill with us at the daquiri shop too. When i saw him walk in, in my head i was like "Dang thats my cousin...he is FINE!" lmao So yea, after chillin at the Daquiri Shop we went back to the movies to see Four Brothers which was really good. They brought everything for us which was super nice..we didnt have to pay for nothing. Then when we left in the car they asked us if we wanted to go chill at the club with them that night...and we were like "yea". So they called their momma and asked them if we could hang out with them for the rest of the night. When they got off the phone they were like "Yall..well she cussed us out and said no yall cant go with us because yall are under her responsibility." So they were like "We'll try again when we get to the house. So when we got back to the house they both went upstairs to ask again. Then 10mins later they came down and were like "yall we got cussed out again. She said hell no they cant go. When they are back at Xavier yall can pick them up anytime yall want to, but when they at my house I am responsible for watchin them." Me and Nicol were both like dang, maybe next time. Around 11pm Laura, Mary's sister, came to get Nicole and I from Mary's house. We were gonna sleep over there because at Mary's house Blake moved his bed into his new apartment and Arty's room was overly messy.
Sunday August 28: We got up at 5:00 to get ready. At 6 we left Lauras house to go back to Mary's house. From there, everyone was gonna drive to Baton Rouge. We were all gonna stay at Mary and Laura's, lil sister, Denise's house to get away from the storm. OMG that drive was soooo freakin lonnnnng. The traffic was bumper to bumper. I took us 9 hours to get from New Orleans to Baton ROuge when it only takes 1hr in normal traffic. It was terrible. Then in the middle of traffic Blake and Arty gonna put on some gospel music and turn it up as loud as it can go. We bursted out laughin lol. But 5 mins later their mom called from her car and told them to turn it down. Well, we left from N.O. at 6:30am, and got to Baton Rouge at 7:00pm. At Denise house we chilled and ate some hecka good BBQ and redbeans and rice. Then we watched the news for like 2hrs, and after that they let us watch DVD's. Had fun watchin Blake and Arty act like some fools. Then we went to sleep around 12:00. It was 13 of us in that house...a lot of ppl.
Monday August 29: Woke up at 8:00, ate, showered, and watched the news. The lights went off at 10am. Nicole and I had nothing to do. We watched Coach Carter on her labtop, then it went dead. So after that we decided to just take a nap. Blake came by us though and was like "Yall need to get up we aint just gonna sit here and do nothing, and be lazy. What we gon do is go in the back room cause we got some Hen-na-dy." Me and Nicole were like what did you say, and he said "We got some Hen-na-dy in the back room." And we were like "what?" Then he finally said "Hennesey." Nicole and I were like Ohhh gorshhh they are crazy mayne! Blake was like "We cant tell the adults so keep it hush" So Blake and Arty went to the back room and when they got back there, they were like "Brittney and Nicole, come to the back room so we can play some monopoly." Me n Nicole were like "Naw thats okay we cool". Then he was like "Get ur asses back here so we can play monopoly b4 i beat yall." Then we were like "Naw we dont wanna play." Then they were like " F' yall, yall boring, go head and go back to sleep." So yup thats what we did, went back to sleep. Then when we woke up at 4:30 we heard we were gonna leave Baton Rouge and go to Jennings,LA(the country :( ). So we left Baton Rouge and got to Jennings around 6:00. Arty was like "Mayne this sh*t about to get wack real fast. There aint sh*t else to do in f'ing Jennings,LA." We were gonna be staying at Aunt Gust house there. Its a nice size for 4 ppl, but for 11 ppl..not big enough. So we got there and watched the news for a couple of hrs. Then Blake and Arty were like "Yall wanna go to the mall?" Nicole and I were like "What mall?" Then Arty goes "Mall-mart." lol So we went to wal-mart to get some stuff for dinner and some other items. We got back to the house around 9:00 and Arty cooked. The food was bangin'! I was shocked cuz it dont look like he can cook. After dinner we just chilled and watched tv cuz there was nothing else to do. We didnt got to bed till like 1:30 because me and nicole were talking to Blake, Arty, and Greg about what singers and rappers were wack and which ones weren't. Mayne they called, Usher, Omarion, B2k, Bowwow, and Mario gay. Then they said mike jones, and paul wall were wack and sorry..and so was ciara. Mayne they got on Ciara! That was hecka funny! After that debate and after Blake and Arty checkin to make sure their rims were still on they car, their speakers were still attached, their Hennesey was still in the car, and Big Bertha(they gun) was still in the car..we went to bed at 1:30.
Tuesday Aug 30: Me and Nicole got up at 9:00 and everyone in the house was up at like 7:45 even the 2 lil children. Me and Nicolewas like dang mayne they wake up early. When we got up Aunt Gust was like "Yall got a good sleep girls?" and Arty go "Yea they slept good,you gave them the best bed in the house. We had to sleep on the couch." lol. We ate then watched tv. Arty cooked breakfast...was good. Around 10 we found out Nicoles dad was on his way to get us and bring us back to Houston..so we were pretty relieved. Then Around 1:00 Blake and Arty went to wal-mart to go get Blake some sinus medicine cuz his sinuses were going crazy. When they came back, Blake had brought sooooooooooo much candy for him Arty's lil boy and Nicole and I. I was like "Dang mayne yo teeth gon rot b4 ur 50!" It was that old school candy too. It was like some wax shaped soda bottles and u had to suck the juice out of them. I was like "How u eat this?" Then Blake was like "Oh lord she never had these b4!" Then Arty go " You gotta school the kids Blake." So Blake was like "Put the bottle and ur mouth and chew it." I was like "that's okay i dont want it." Then Blake goes "You betta put the dam candy in yo mouth b4 i beat yo a**." I was like okay and i put it in my mouth. Then he go "Chew it..get all the juice out of it." I was like "This stuff is nasty why u got this?" He was like "imma eat these till i pass out." He had packs and packs of that crap. Then he had all this bubble gum and he made me stick this big chunk of it in my mouth. He was going crazy with all that candy actin like a big ol kid! Around 2:00 Nicoles daddy came. So Nicole and I packed up and stuff. Blake and Arty were like "Oh noooooooooooooooo Tuts(they nickname 4 me) leaving..holy ghost help us!!" But yea we loaded up gave each other hugs and said our goodbyes and were out. Nicole was extra happy and ready to go back home...I was having a good time being around my cousins and wasn't quite ready to go.
It's funny how my momma had to make me go over there and I cried not to go. Then when it came time to come back to houston, i didnt wanna leave my cousins. They treated me like I was they lil sister...and they felt like older brothers to me. I never had an older brother so it was cool to see how that felt. They were all protective of me and stuff, took us with them everywhere, payed for everything, fixed us food, made sure we were comfortable, talked to us about boy's, let us know about their relationships with girls(wow Arty talked about his current girl friend bad...saying he gonna have to let her go and get a new one). I miss them a lot. Hopefully when N.O. get all the stuff back together we can hang out again.
Wellperz Imback in Houston..safe. They say residents of new orleans cant return untill 2-3weeks. I dont know when Xavier Univ. will be back open. If yall seen the picture of the superdome...Xavier is only 5 mins away from there. You can see Xavier from the dome...i heard its flooded but i dunno. Well I be at home for a while maybe weeks maybe a month. I only have 6 pairs of clothes with me cuz all my other clother are at the dorm. Yall pray...

Wow a lot has been going on. Im officially at Xavier University of Louisiana for the fall. Orientation started last saturday. I got here last saturday in the afternoon at like 4:00. It was packed. Then my housing/residence was all jacked up so it took my mom confronting the dean to fix that mess! The SCREAM TOUR 4 CONCERT was last saturday too(Aug 13th). OMG that concert was HOT! Eventhough my crew and I got that 1hour late and missed B5 and PRETTY RICKY...it was still great. It was worth my $40 cause it lasted a good 4hours. Bow WOw looked freakin good...Omarion looked OMG sexy!...and Marques Houston got Naked lol. Then my baby Lil Wayne was there...wow he looked fione too! I had fun though. My parents left sunday. I miss them much but I'm not homesick:) My roomate is extra cool...no I dont have the one from the summer thank goodness. My new one is from Jackson, Mississippi, and relate in diffrent ways. She cool though. Orientations been straight. Talents shows, plays, free food...been great. Yesterday I met this dude that looks just like Omarion..except he's a caramel color. He's beautiful...his smile and everything reminds me of Omarion. We talked for a while. But you know these girls at this school are all on him. The girl to boy ratio at this school is like 7 girls to every 1 boy. It pittiful and sickening. This is really not the place to have a boyfriend cuz there will be a bajillion other whores on him. But yea back to him and I talking ...we were just basically getting to know each other. He was flirting with me and I guess I was flirting with him. Who knows what will become of our lil talk. Lastnight we had a school dance. These 3 girls were grinding all on him too. I was like dang..look at this! But then he came over to our lil group where we were gettin it crunk. He was eyeing me and vice versa...felt the chemistry lol. We didnt do nothing though. I shoulda got his number. But ill see him around this lil campus sooon hopefully.
Today we went to my friend, Lauren's church. IT's called CITY CATHEDRAL. OMG i love her church it was fun and I felt refreshed. Well school starts tomorrow. Im soooo ready. Im about to bounce though.Go eat dinner in the cafeteria :/ then do some laundry.... |

MOnday me and shinga went to Tasha's house for a sleepover. That was fun. All we did was just chill around the house though watchin movies, talkin, callin homies and whatnot. We wanted to hang out with each other since we're all leaving for college soon. It was cool though. We went to the grocery store at 12 that night to get some groceries though because they didnt have nothing to eat. It's scary in her neighborhood though. It feels like a scene from a scary movie. Her neighborhood is in the freakin woods mayne. Got all them lil weird insects and crap lol. When we were about to leave for Wal-Mart some white mayne pulled in the driveway b4 we could back out and asked us where some road was. Me and shinga were all screamin and crud..it was scary!! Now why would he be up in a neighborhood dang near in the woods askin where a road was that was about 20 mins away..made no sense. He knew where it was..he was probably just lookin for a victim.
Im getting braids today..again for college :/ Boy is my head gonna be hurting tonight. I hate wearing braids. But it made my hair grow 1 inch in about a month, and its easy for a full time college student(just wake up, throw it in a ponytail or whatever style you want, and GO..all in 5 minutes).
Im leaving for school saturday morning! I'm excited about orientation, meeting new ppl, and getting back together with all the friends I made from the program. So I'm ready. I just needa get a couple of things, like school supplies, a rug, lamp, hairstuff, make-up/nailpolish, some shoes to match this outfit i have, and some pink and brown shirts to match the new pair of vans i brought..thats all i think.
My lil sister and brother went back to school today. So yeah me and my older sis have the whole house to ourselves until 4:45. YAY! Awww they're in middle school now...they're both growing up soooo fast..::tear:: lol
WEllperz I needa start packing and burning CD's to take with me, uploading pics on the cpu to take with me, and all that stuff...im out

I haven't been on here in a while. I said i would never let this die, and Im letting it die. I've gotten too addicted to "facebook" once again.
Im now at home. The program ended friday, July 29. I got my 'A' in General College chemistry! Made lots of wonderful friends! Since then I've just been enjoying being back at home, and taking in all the wonderful, beautiful, Houston scenery. Basically ive just been chillaxin'. School starts August 22nd but I have to be back up there on Aug 13th. Im excited now. I've already been up there and know my way around so Im comfortable. I wont really feel like a freshmen lol.
Cant forget about the Scream 4 Tour! Im excited about that too! |

I havent been up on here in a while...i think i got addicted to facebook and forgot about lj! I need 2 update though.
Whats new?
-I got moved from the 6th floor(newer dorms) to the 3rd floor(old stinky dorms) because our room started mildewing (ewwwww). Im trynna move back up to the 5th floor though but if that happens it will be on tomorrow.
-Im starting to get used to the city now. I feel a lil safer. I just dont feel safe having to walk down S. Carrolton, and being next to Gurt-town w/ the undercover "whoadies."
-We only have 12 more days until the program is over!! Can we say YEAH!! I've made so many new friends though...its awesome!
-I no longer get homesick. Im cool now. If some one mentions going home, I'll be like yea that would be nice. I miss my family but not to the point where its gonna make me breakdown and cry like i was doing 2 weeks ago.
-IT's official...me and some of my fellow xavier friends are gonna go to the Scream Tour 4 down here in new orleans!! Im hyped!
Today is gonna be a bust :(. This morning some girls and I went to church that was fun. Now im chilln here in my dorm room. Our professor made class today (on a SUNDAY) from 3-5. I was sooo mad ughhhh. Hopefully it goes by fast. I'll probably be up studyin all night for a major exam tomorrow...
Last night was fun! Everyone was going out to clubs in stuff. We were gonna go but we had just got back from the movies and going out to eat, and we didnt feel like having to change clothes. So we chilled out on the front porch of our Katherine Drexel dorms. Then me and Valerie decided that we would have a "CLUB KD(katherine drexel)" We had free water and gensing pills untill 11 lol. We had music and crap and ppl came and went. We were dancing, singing, passin the mike, and just actin crazy. Then 2 boys from St. Mikes dorm came over and chilled with us for an hour and a half. We told them we wanted to see them dance. So the one boy Josh..he was saying he could dance but i guess he was a lil too shy to show us so i was like ummmm just sit down. He was a sweet boy though. Then the the other boy Justin danced for us. He was poppin and lockin and doin all tha Omarion and Usher stuff. Can we say WOW!!! It was just sooooooo sexy! A boy that can dance is like a major turn on for me! And he was sooooooooo FINE on top of that. But he was really quite and seemed shy. Its always the quite one though. Me and my friend Nicole were sitting there cheesing mad hard and we didnt even know it until someone pointed it out. That boy was about to make both of us faint! oh my gorsshhhh! I thought he was only here for the highschool program too, but i found out he's gonna be a senior at xavier this fall...I was like YES!! But anyways we had CLUB KD from 9-2am! |

Ewwww this weather here is terrible. Its been raining for the past 12 days that I've been here. I hate the rain..at times. Today we went on a tour of Tulane Medical School..it was alright, but im not going there. Please believe i will be back in Texas.
Boys at summerschool absolutely suck. They're either lame, cute w/ an ugly personality, flat out ugly, a fake thug, or gay. It's so annoying and the girls in the summmer program are already jumpin all over these weak dudes. It's so crazy. SO hopefully in the fall, we will have a better selection of boys.
4th of July sucked. I spent mine studyin with the group, watchin movies, and lookin at the LAME fireworks from the dorm room window. I call my parents to see what they were doin..they were eatin BBQ, hamburgers, beans, potatoe salad, peach cobbler. I was like dang man this sucks. We had some nasty "seasoned" rice, and dry chicken from the cafeteria.
OK so my roomate has gotten on my bad side. This lil heffa is eatin my food and usin my stuff when im not in my room! I have a container of food under my bed that "I" eat when I dont want to go down to the cafeteria. SO sunday morning i wake up to eat a quick breaskfast before i go to church w/ this girl. I pull out my box of nutri-grain bars, go in the box to get one and realize that there were only 3 left. I had 8 bars to start with. I ate one and two days in a row she asked me for a bar..so she ate the 2 that I gave her...and she ate 2 more that she didnt aske me for. I was seriously pissed-but my attitude was "u know its not that serious im just gonna let it slide." So i didnt say anything. Then one morning she used my Bath and Body works lotion w/o asking me. I was laying in my bed resting my eyes. Then I heard this bottle pop open and stuff squeeze out of it. Then 20 seconds later i smelled my Sweet Pea scent. I was like "Dang she usin my stuff!" I wanted to open my eyes so badly and just go off, but I let that slide too. So yea I know yall probably like "You should say something." But being the person that i am, its gonna take one more thing to happen before i say something(im the laid back type). But i know if this keep up she gonna make my crazy/mean/ghettogirl side come out.

So I guess Xavier isnt bad after all. I actually like it now. It just took some time adjusting/getting over homesickness and finding that perfect group of friends where you can be yourself. So im giving the cafeteria food a 2nd chance...somedays its good and somedays its not soo good. I like my study group friends..they're all so nice and crazy and I can be my goofy self around them, and not feel like I have to act a certain way to fit in. So I think ill do good up here. Plus we get $20 every friday for our grades. So thats something to look foward to.
[Wednesday June 29] Class from 7:30-5. Then we went to Laurens house on the east that night. Dannnggg her house is BIG! But it was fun though
[Thursday June 30] Class from 7:30-11:00. Ate lunch with some girls. Went back to class at 12:15 and we had some quizzes to take and got out of class at 5:00. Me and Nicole went to dinner together. That fried chicken was pretty good. We sat with this girl from georgia..she was cool. Then Adrienne(roomate), brittany, Alexa, and another girl sat with us. It was fun...we were just ranking the boys as they were passing by..OMG so funny! Most of them are gay anyways. After dinner we all signed up for Xavier movie night for July 5. It'll give us something to do besides sittin in the dorms. We're gonna go see Rebound w/ Martin Lawrence. We only had to pay $2.00. The campus pays the rest...i love it! After that i went back to my dorm and talked on the phone to friends and fam for like an hour and 30 mins. Then i went to study w/ some other group of girls in the dorm lounge for a while. I met another girl from Houston..so thats cool. Took a shower. Then went back to the lounge to study with my original study group. As usual we had a bomb conversation goin on so we barely looked at our books lol. We were trynna plan what to do this weekend. 1st on saturday afternoon, the program is gonna take a trip to the mall so we can see how to get there by bus and they're just gonna let us shop. After that we might go to comicview saturday night cuz the university was handing out free tickets. Sunday lauren is picking me and adrienne up so we can go to church with her. Monday July 4th my study group and I were just gonna go walking outside of the Essence festival since no one wanted to pay $35 to go, and then probably go to a party after that. So that's whats planned. After talkin about weekend plans..Conisha(this real cool chick from baton rouge) came and joined in our convo. Somehow we got on the topic of how dangerous new orleans is. Like there's this club called club Roc-A-Fella right across the street from the university. Only takes about 5 mins to walk there. Well the program leader told us not to cross the little bridge thingy that connects to the side of the street that the club is on cuz its not safe. So we were wonderin why they didnt want the students over there. Conisha was like "They're not lying it really isnt safe. They dont care if ur a gurl or not, if some dude at that club try to holla at u and u blow him off, they'll take a gun and shoot you. That club is full of woadies, and the boys dont even dance, they just be on the wall." Now i understand why not to cross the bridge. That scared me...I did hear like 4 gunshots 2days ago. I was like "Dang we in the hood!" Then there was a lot of policemen at that club sunday. After our lil convos we went to bed around 12:30.
[Today July 1] We had class today from 7:30 to 2:15. We had a quiz and i made an 'A' so i was happy. Then we got $20 on top of that too! Oh yes. Im just chillin in the computer lab right now. I dont know what im doin today. Nothings going on.Im probably gonna get some homework out the way so I can enjoy my weekend... |

Wow yall! Lonnnnnnnnnnng time no see(well atleast it feels like it). So whats been up w/me?
I left from Houston 3:00 friday morning for New Orleans. I slept the whole 5 hrs here. We got here around 8ish. I registered then went to go fix my dorm room up. I met my room mate. She's from Bowie, MD. She's really cool, not mean, ghetto, or dirty. We've gotten to become acquainted with each other a lil bit. The only thing that annoys me about her is that she's SOOOOOOOOO self-concious and doubts herself too much which shows that her self-esteem is not where it should be. I dont like hanging around ppl that are self-concious and doubting. It makes me feel drained and i hate it! And then she's so clingy. Like when she hung out with my family she was just huggin on my mom...and now she calls her AUNTIE! Maybe its because her mom doesnt show her much attention or love like my mom does. Then when my parents left monday she was like "i miss ur mommie." And when my mom was here she asked if she could come to houston with us.
Anyways, after meeting my room mate, my parents, lil sis, brother and I went downtown. We ate a lot. The food is good! We went somewhere called Aunt Sallies pralines, then we ate at Fatburger which was yummy. After that we went back to the hotel to go swimming. Then my dad dropped me off at my dorm aroung 12:00am we had a 2am curfew...yes freakin dorm curfews! My roomate was still up though..we talked for a lil then went to sleep.
Saturday my roomate hung out with my family and I because she didnt have anything to do and her parents had left. I was not about to stay in the dorm all day either. So we went downtown. We stopped at some praline shop and got some candy. We ate at Cafe Masperos after that. Then we rode the trolley trying to get to the zoo but it was closed. So we just rode the trollies for an hour and some minutes just seeing what was in the city. After that we went to Lakeside Mall about 10mins away from the university. I love that mall! It reminds me of willowbrook in houston. My momma was sweet and bought me a whole outfit from aeropostale. Then my roomate went to BEBE and Forever 21 where she saw this brown skirt she wanted through the window. So we just said we would come back sunday and get it. After that we left and went to the movies at some place called The Palace. We saw Mr. and Mrs. Smith which was not worth paying for. Then my parents dropped us off at the dorms at 1:30 in the morning. LMAO at the old ladies that stand outside making sure the students get in on time. She was sooooo mean! My roomate was like "goodnight" to her and the lady gave her this nasty look. Anyways we got in the room, took showers in that nasty community showers then went to sleep in the dorm. Its so cold in the rooms. They make us keep the air on so it wont mold...can we say ewwwww!
Sunday my mom came bustin through our room (my roomate forgot to lock our door) wakin us up at 10 in the morning to go running at Audubon park. I was actually up but i was laying in my bed. My roomate was sleep. She said she usually gets up at noon, which annoys me also cause i hate late sleepers...makes u look lazy. But we did 4 miles, then we took showers at my parents hotel, then we all went to the audubon zoo. It was pretty cool. We only stayed about 2hrs though because we were trynna rush back to the mall so my roomate could get that skirt that she wanted before the store closed. I went to Abercrombie and bought a polo with a giftcard that someone gave me for graduation. Then we met up at the mall w/ this girl name Lauren that we became friends with at school. She had invited us to some play at her church. My roomate went, but i wanted to stay with my parents since they were gonna leave on monday. So after that my parents, bro, sis, and I went to go eat at Copelands which was GOOD! Then some relatives from Metarie came and joined us and we talked and took pictures. AFter that we left because i had to go get some food from Wal-mart before 11'oclock curfew. I stocked up on some ramen noodles, cereal, fruit, deli meat, bread, popcorn, granola bars, and baked chips. Then my parents dropped me off at my dorm. When i got to my room i met like a whole new group of girls cuz my roomate was talking to them. They were real cool and down to earth. We talked a good hr and listened to music. After that i took shower and went too bed.
[just a thought] my parents payed for everything for my roomate while she hung out with us. They spent about $65 on her.
Monday morning, school started. We go from 7:30 to 5 everyday, sometimes 7:30 to 3. Me and my roomate ate breakfast in the cafeteria. OMG i hate this food! I wonder how im gonna make it the next 4 years :X Then we went to class. Ughhhh it seemed soooo long. All we did was work work work...atleast i wont have to take this class in the fall like other freshmen. We went to lunch at 11:00. Gorssshhh my roomate eats sooooooooo much food. She's a toothpick right now though but if she keeps eating like this...shes gonna put on that "FRESHMEN 15." I would not dare eat like that. She had 2 slices of pizza, hamburger w/fries, cake, jello, and a slush...that just 1 LUNCH! I didnt say nothing though. She ate like that for dinner too! Im not about to gain weight..noo sirrrr! We got out early monday. Then we went to the dorm and just chilled. I got homesick that night though and cried a lil. I miss my mom and dad and friends and grandparents, and the homecooked food, and bein able to take my car and drive places. But after i said a prayer i felt wayyyyy better and stronger.
Tuesday-class from 7:30 to 5. We worked hard all day and i was soo tired. After class i just chilled in the dorm room. at 7 i went downstairs in the lobby to watch BET awards on big screen with all the other ppl. OMG destiny's child shocked me with those lap dances! Mariah sounded terrible..but she looked pretty. Omarion and Ciara were good and missy and glady's knight. After the awards i went back to get my books and study in the lounge with some girls i had just made friends with. It was sooooo fun! We did more talkin then studyin though, but we still got our stuff done. We ended up goin to bed at 2am.
Class today was alright. We had some quizzes. I didnt eat that nasty lunch in the cafeteria though. I went to my room and made me a sandwich, and had my lil fruit and chips. We got out of class at 4 today (YAY!). I have to study tonight. Lauren is gonna take my roomate, this chick from houston, and I to her house at 7 tonight because they're having something for her church called the Lifegroup. It's just a bunch of girls i guess learning the godly way of dating?? I dont know but we'll see.
Well Im about to go back to the dorm and chill a bit. The labtop that i brought here for my room doesnt work. So now i have to come to the library. Thats why i havent been on in a while...I wont have pictures because of my disfunctional labtop, but ill post some when i get back to houston on July 30..i took a lot! -Peaceout
